CHS ANNUAL REPORT Announcement 2020

Dear Member/s

We hope this finds you and your families in good health. Out of necessity, we have to facilitate our 2020 AGM remotely, so we have posted copies of the following documents on the website (please click on the links):

If you have any comments to make or wish to oppose the re-election of the existing committee then please reply either by post to:

Mary Bowers,
4 High Street,
IV11 8UZ

OR by using the contact link on our website: https://www.cromartyhistory.scot/feedback.asp

This should be done by Friday 31 July 2020.

Also, please let us know if you would be interested in joining the committee, as we are able to co-opt additional members. This can be done at any point.

With regard to recommencing our meetings, the committee has come to the decision that we need now to cancel the whole of our next season (20-21). Although not ideal, our desire to be cautious and protect everyone has overridden other considerations. As you know there are so many uncertainties around Covid-19 and possibilities of it returning. Should the situation much improve, then we will consider organising some ad hoc events (but not before the start of 2021). We will obviously notify you in advance when meetings will start again together with the programme. In the meantime, your membership will run for a further year, without a renewal payment.

Keep up-to-date, by checking our website: https://www.cromartyhistory.scot/

Sending our best wishes to you and thanks for your continuing support.

Mary Bowers

on behalf of Cromarty History Society Committee

27 July 2020Courthouse Announcement

Courthouse Reopens 2020

Cromarty Courthouse Museum will be open on Saturdays and Sundays during August from 12am until 4pm. We look forward to welcoming our visitors once again. Admission is free.

Our staff and volunteers will be on hand to advise you on your route through the Courthouse and they will ask all visitors to use the hand sanitiser provided, wear a suitable face covering and maintain social distancing.

We have had to make some changes within the museum in order to comply with Covid-19 standards but hope that visitors will still be able to enjoy seeing our historic Courthouse.

The shop will also be open offering a range of regionally produced items for sale. We would encourage electronic payment for purchases and donations to the museum may also be made electronically and would be much appreciated.

We may be able to open the Courthouse weekends in September so, if you plan to visit then, please check our website, Facebook and Instagram pages for details.

Our Garden and Orchard will remain open every day and visitors are welcome to enjoy them.
