Fascinating letters from Rosskeen!

We are delighted to have been invited to host on our website a treasure trove of letters which were recently discovered by Alan Cairnie. They concern the affairs of his ancestor James Hall (1795-1864) who was a shipowner living at Belleport, Rosskeen, on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth.

The letters give a fascinating insight into the business dealings of this relatively prosperous family, as well as revealing glimpses of their personal lives.

The letters and associated family tree are on our  LIBRARY page.
