Metal Detectors at the Reeds Park

In preparation for the Medieval Cromarty archaeological dig due to start at the Reeds Park (www.medievalcromarty.org), a couple of metal detectorists have been scanning the survey area. First results from a couple of hours work today include two as yet unidentified coins, lots and lots of nails, and a lead weight whose purpose has yet to be clarified.

If you are unfamiliar with the area, see Sandy's blog on the Cromarty Homes and Heritage website.
