Unseen letters, diaries and photographs from the Great War:  Speaker, Lynsey Easton

Lynsey was born and brought up in Hawick in the Borders and studied history at Stirling University before doing a masters in Museum and Gallery Studies at St Andrews. Her first Museum job was as curatorial assistant at South Georgia Museum (Antarctica) and she has also worked at Abbotsford House and Glencoe Museum. This talk, the Society’s first of the New Year, will trace the history of the 4th Seaforth Highlanders during the First World War through letters, diaries and accounts of the soldiers. Lynsey will also explain how to go about researching a WW1 soldier and the ways in which the Highlanders' Museum can help.
