Oral History Project Makes Progress

'Cromarty: Homes and Heritage', the local oral history project has taken an important step forward with the appointment of expert  Facilitators who will be working with local volunteers. Ross and Cromarty Archaeological Services is a relatively new company but its two partners have substantial experience of community-based archaeology projects. They are Mary Peteranna and Lynn Fraser. Mary has lived in Cromarty for the past four years, staying in the Salmon Bothy at the end of the Links. She is a graduate of Boston University in the United States. Lynn lives in Tore and has a degree from the University of the Highlands and Islands. Their recent work has included the production of an archaeology trail App for the village of Strathpeffer.

Mary and Lynn will begin the planning phase of the project in the New Year and expect to be running community workshops in Cromarty from Easter 2013 on. More details can be found at www.spanglefish.com/cromartyhomesandheritage
